Francesco Totti broke a new record

February 28th, 2008 – Milan – Yesterday night at the San Siro stadium, one of the temples of soccer, Francesco Totti set a new club record with his 387th top flight appearance for AS Roma.

Totti surpassed Giacomo Losi's long-standing club record, having broken the midfielder's all-time club appearance record of 451 games in all competitions last year.

In addition to that, three years ago, Totti became Roma's top scorer of all time, outstripping Roberto Pruzzo, and Roma can only benefit from their captain's presence as they look to reduce the nine-point gap that separates them from Serie A leaders Inter.

Filippo Inzaghi 's star shined again

February 25th, 2008 - Serie A - Yesterday night Filippo Inzaghi gave an unexpected and precious victory to his team in a game in which Palermo had a good performance. Moreover, with this goal, Inzaghi made Milan the club with which he has scored the most goals. Now his career record stands at 499 games, with 224 goals. For Italy, he has scored 25 times in 57 appearances. The Rossoneri started out strongly, but it was Palermo who went ahead in their first opportunity in the 9th minute, as Migliaccio took a deep free-kick towards Bresciano, whose shot from close range was deflected by Oddo's chest past Kalac and into his own goal. This completely surprised the home side, who henceforth found it difficult to get past a solid Palermo defence. In the 20th minute the Rossoneri had their first shot on goal as Kaka tried his luck from the distance, but Fontana managed to block his powerful strike. Milan equalized in the 24th minute when, following an impressive move by the home team, Oddo crossed from the right hand side towards the far post, where Ambrosini scored. In the 45nd minute, the Diadora’s testimonial had another good chance, but his header from 10 metres away also flew skyward. Ancelotti introduced Gourcuff at the start of the second half for a nervous Kaka, but the game kept lacking any real entertainment. However, just when everything was pointing towards a draw, the evergreen Inzaghi managed to award the Rossoneri the three points in the 90th minute. Gourcuff crossed from the left hand side, and Inzaghi turned a dream into reality.
