Real Madrid defeated by Hannover in friendly

31st July, 2007 – Hannover - Spanish champions Real Madrid suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat by Bundesliga side Hannover 96 in the pre-season friendly today.

Hannover's goals were scored by Hungarian midfielder Szabolcs Huszti, Icelandic forward Gunnar Thorvaldsson and Germany striker Benjamin Lauth.
The game marked Bernd Schuster's debut as Real coach, after the German took over from sacked Italian manager Fabio Capello last month.
