Kiefer wears Hannover 96 in Hamburg

Diadora athlete Nicolas Kiefer has been wearing jerseys taken from the Hannover 96 Collection during the Hamburg Tennis Tournament in progress that also features the participation of other Diadora athletes like Ljubicic, Ferrer and Gaudio. In particular, Kiefer has been using the "Home" version of the Hannover 96 jersey without its sponsor and logo and the third, green-coloured version. The media showed immediate interest in the German tennis star's firm desire to wear the jersey because he's a Hamburg hometown boy himself and a big fan of some of his friends who play for the prestigious football team. Kiefer even works out with the Hannover 96 players, and wears an officially-designated Number 69 during his matches. This is basically a gift that both Kiefer and Diadora have desired to make to both the German city and its team in the Bundesliga, while also emphasising Diadora's complete commitment to sports all across the board. The Italian derby that placed another Diadora athlete, 11th world-ranking Francesca Schiavone against Mara Santangelo in Rome on the second day of the Italian International Tennis Tournament ended up in a victory for the former. On an unseasonably hot day that peaked at 25°C temperature, the first set played equally well by both ended in Schiavone's favour at 6-4 after five set-points, while the Diadora star succeeded in putting every difficulty behind her and bringing the match to a close by winning the second set 6-0.The next opponent to be faced by the 8th ranking Italian lady tennis star will be Martina Hingis, the 1998 winner at the Foro Italico, in a match to be played next Thursday in the 3rd round of the WTA Tournament.
